Jesse “Lone Cat” Fuller was born in Jonesboro, Georgia. He had an interesting journey to becoming a one-man band inventing and constructing an musical instrument known as a fotdella for accompaniment. A fotdella is a foot-operated string bass musical instrument. The mural seen here is located on the side of 102 S. Main Street in Jonesboro. He’s most known for the song San Francisco Bay Blues which has been covered by many musicians including Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, and Peter, Paul and Mary. Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead have also covered tunes written and recorded by Jesse Fuller. #seeclaytoncountyga #blackhistory #blackhistorymonth
